I, Noh Kyu-Cheol, am honored to accept the position of the 32nd President of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society. It is a great privilege for me to serve as the president of an association with a history and legacies spanning over 30 years, and I extend my deepest gratitude to the advisory board members, directors, and all members for entrusting me with this responsibility. I understand about this is a great responsibility, however, I am dedicated to diligently maintaining the accomplishments and legacies of previous presidents while striving to enhance our society's success.
The Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society's academic conferences have established themselves as reputable international forums, attracting orthopedic surgeons from various countries. I will strive to further develop our society into an even more prominent international platform for exchange and collaboration among experts from around the world. Despite our society's elevated status on the international stage, I pledge to not rest on our laurels. Through scholarly and cultural exchanges with countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond, I aim to enhance medical services for patients in those nations while also elevating the standing of our society.
Our official society journal, Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow (CiSE), has achieved
indexing in SCOPUS this year due to the active interest and participation of our members. I am committed to striving for SCI indexing, which is the ultimate goal for CiSE.
In addition to the annual Spring KSES Academic Conference, our society hosts fall conferences, educational courses, and various academic meetings at universities, local chapters, and research societies. I will endeavor to ensure that these gatherings serve not only as scholarly platforms but also as constructive forums for presentations and discussions, fostering harmony among the members. I believe that active discussions and the sharing of the latest knowledge and techniques, driven by both experienced and new members, will enhance the potential of our society and ultimately.
contribute significantly to providing quality medical services to patients.
Furthermore, to expand and advance our society quantitatively, we will organize "Surgical Education Workshops for Young Practitioners" during the regular annual academic conferences to facilitate the participation of young practitioners and standardize surgical education.
I will maintain constant communication with the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Services, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, to actively engage in healthcare policy and insurance systems. Additionally, I will strive to promote public health awareness alongside Shoulder Day activities, addressing important medical issues.
We will establish close ties not only with other medical societies but also with the Korean Orthopedic Association to expand the role of our society. Moreover, to activate our role as a research society, we will support basic science research groups and discuss ways to enhance multi-institutional research initiatives led by the society.
To successfully fulfill these tasks, the cooperation and support of all members are paramount. I urge everyone to take a keen interest in the various activities of the society.
Finally, I express my sincere gratitude to all past executives and members for their dedicated efforts in advancing the society. Thank you.
