Inaugural Address of the 34th President
Dear distinguished members of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society, and esteemed colleagues in shoulder and elbow surgery around the world,

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all members of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society, as well as to our former presidents and executive board members who have devoted themselves to the Society. I believe that the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society of today exists because of the dedication, effort, and service of our senior colleagues. It is a great honor for me to assume the important role of the 34th President, and at the same time, I feel a profound sense of responsibility.
My term is only one year. However, even within this short period, I will do my utmost to faithfully carry out the key tasks that are essential for the continued development of our Society.
First, I will provide my full support for the continued effort, led by our former presidents, to further strengthen the international standing of our journal. March 2028 will mark the 30th anniversary of its publication, and I will spare no effort or support to help achieve SCIE indexing before that milestone.
Second, I will work to complete the third edition of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society textbook, which is currently in progress, without delay. As this textbook reflects the academic achievements and clinical experience of our Society, I will do my best to ensure that it is completed by next year’s Spring Congress and presented to our members as a meaningful achievement.
Third, I will focus not only on outward growth, but also on strengthening the substance of our Society. I will work to deepen the bond among our members and to foster unity through mutual trust and communication. In addition, I will strive to establish a stable financial foundation, enhance the sustainability of the Society, and build a healthier operational structure.
Many officers and committee members are making tremendous efforts for the Society, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all of them. On behalf of the Society, I would especially like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Professor Park Hyung Bin, Chair of the Editorial Committee and Chair of the Textbook Publication Committee; Professor Kim Jeong Han, Chair of the Academic Committee and Secretary of the Textbook Publication Committee; and Professor Lee Bong Geun, Chair of the Insurance Committee.
I sincerely ask for your continued advice and support. I, too, will always communicate with humility and work faithfully for the development of our Society and for the interests of all our members.
